Spoken English Course in the UAE — Level 1
Spoken English Level 1 is a 24-hour beginner course taught over up to two months at Millennium Academy in Sharjah or live online. It covers all 16 units of the Level 1 syllabus, with class time given to conversation and the grammar that supports it rather than workbook drills.
Level 1 of our three-level Spoken English pathway. In 24 hours across up to two months, you'll work through all 16 units of our Level 1 syllabus — but stripped down to what actually gets you talking: real conversation practice, the grammar and vocabulary that support it, and enough listening to keep up with a natural exchange. Workbook-style pronunciation drills, reading passages and writing tasks are set aside for Levels 2 and 3, so every one of your 24 hours goes into speaking.

Part 1 — Getting Started

How you get certified
This is Level 1 of a three-level spoken-fluency pathway, not an examination-board qualification. If you need an internationally certified score for university admission, migration or a work visa, see our IELTS Preparation course instead — many students complete Levels 1 and 2 here first, then move on to IELTS once they're speaking comfortably.

It's all 16 units of our Level 1 syllabus — which is exactly why we call this Level 1. Levels 2 and 3 continue with more advanced material, going further into conversation, pronunciation, reading and writing.
Our Level 1 syllabus includes real pronunciation drills, reading passages and writing tasks for every unit, and they're valuable — but for a true beginner, the fastest route to actually speaking is spending class time speaking. Level 1 keeps just enough listening to follow a real conversation and folds grammar and vocabulary into speaking practice, then hands the deeper pronunciation, reading and writing work to Levels 2 and 3, once you already have a conversational base to build on.
No. Level 1 is built for complete beginners and false beginners. We start every student with a free level-assessment call so the course is pitched right from lesson one.
No — they solve different problems. Spoken English builds everyday conversational ability from the ground up. IELTS Preparation trains you specifically for the IELTS exam and a target band score, and assumes a higher starting level. Many students complete our Spoken English levels first, then move to IELTS once they need the certified score.
